Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university with 10+ years related audit and/or other relevant experience. Departmental Requirements - Knowledge, Abilities & Skills Ability to maintain confidentialityStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work well independently and in a team settingExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsBudgeting and financial management at the college or university levelProficient in Microsoft Office, data analytics and other computer software/databasesSkilled in collecting and analyzing compiled data, evaluating information and systems and drawing logical conclusions and preparing detailed documentation of work performed Preferred Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA CFE or other applicable certification; Advanced knowledge of auditing, accounting, risk management, healthcare organizations and regulations and laws; Advanced degree in a related field Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: Auditing Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the conduct of audits to include engagement planning, fieldwork and reporting for consulting, investigation and assurance activities to improve governance, risk management and compliance; Prepare and/or review working papers and reports that properly record and summarize the review process and findings; Adhere to the professional standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors to include coordinating annual quality assurance self-assessments every five years
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors in conducting audits and resolving audit related matters; Participate in information systems requirements and development; Demonstrate ability in planning and project management managing multiple assignments and priorities; Skilled in collecting and analyzing compiled data, evaluating information and systems and drawing logical conclusions and preparing detail documentation of work performed
  • High level of skills and abilities regarding audit risk assessment, internal audit testing techniques and procedures, reporting techniques and appropriate remediation follow up; Performs special projects and/or initiatives as determined by the VP for Audit, Compliance, Ethics and Risk Management, President of AU, CEO of AU Health System and/or ACERM Committees; Conduct and/or coordinate audit risk assessments for the AU and USG BOR Rolling 18 month audit plan
Communication Responsibilities
  • Keep clients informed on a regular basis on status of audits; Apply effective listening skills and techniques; Use and perceive non-verbal communication
  • Present review findings and recommendations to managements/audit committee and negotiate implementation of same
  • Regularly present and coordinate communications on Internal Audit activities for the Audit, Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management committees
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain risk assessment programs that meet institutional and internal audit objectives; Manage employee records, performance reviews and timekeeping for Internal Audit
  • Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned
    Shift/Salary Shift: Full-Time/Days/M-F Pay Grade: 26 Salary: $86,225/Annually - $120,715/Annually Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position Recruitment Period: 5/16/2019 - Until Filled Conditions of Employment All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
