Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED with one year of applicable experience with Johnson Controls Metasys or similar Building Automation System (BAS) including system management, component installation, and troubleshooting. Must have valid driver's license and be qualified to operate Augusta University vehicles and carts. Must be able to lift/carry 75 lbs. Due to color coded wires in equipment applicant must not be color blind. Due to working in confined places applicant must not be claustrophobic. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
  • Must have or be able to acquire Boiler System Certification and Universal Certification in Recovery of Refrigerants.
  • Ability to use hand or power tools applicable to trade.
  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • Skill in the use of computers.
  • Ability to develop heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems modifications plans.
  • Ability to review engineering documents, specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
  • Document and track preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read schematic and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, building materials, and emergency maintenance.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety precautions.
  • Must be able to work independently and also as a team member. Must be able to work well with staff and customers
Preferred Ten years' experience in the HVAC field including maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauling of building pneumatic, electric, electronic, and direct digital HVAC control systems and components Responsibilities General responsibilities: Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair pneumatic electric, electronic, and direct digital control system (DDC). May lead and train staff. Supervise the execution of the Campus Energy Management Program in the most efficient way to maintain optimum computer control and environmental comfort levels, thus maintaining a comfortable environment for faculty, staff, and students. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintain building HVAC controls, Schedule and perform the replacing or overhauling of various building HVAC control systems, Troubleshoot chiller machine control malfunctions, Energy systems management, and Perform related work as required. Shift/Salary Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Grade: 15
Salary: $18.71/hr. - $20.45/hr
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
