Job Information

The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Intensivist. The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine offers critical care services in the 154 bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Currently, we provide coverage in the 14-bed PICU, run a full-time sedation service, and give medical direction for the Pediatric Transport Team. We have an active ECMO program, and boast a full entourage of medical and surgical subspecialists. We are home to the 10th largest medical school in the country with over 920 students. Due to significant growth, we have recently opened a new intermediate care unit to improve throughput and increase our overall capacity. As such, it is time to expand the division. Academically, we have relationships established on campus with excellent research capabilities and funding through the Georgia Prevention Institute (GPI).

Augusta supports an active arts community with touring companies of Broadway productions, a regional ballet company, and a professional symphony orchestra. The cost of living is below the national average, yet the quality of life ranks well above that same national average. The largest lake in Georgia is our neighbor, and there are a plethora of beaches within a couple of hours drive.

The faculty at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia finds life in Augusta to be a perfect balance between big city and small town. Our intensivists are active in the community: participating in local organizations, sporting activities, volunteer efforts, and their children’s extracurricular events.

Community members proudly describe the area as a wonderful place for children to grow and families to develop. Topnotch school systems are located here, and include Davidson Fine Arts who is consistently ranked well within the top 100 High Schools nationally by US News and World Reports.
