Description:
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of general and gastrointestinal surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of medical students, residents and fellows rotating through the general and GI surgery services.
Clinical responsibilities may include patient care in gastrointestinal and general surgery.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include investigations in translational and clinical GI surgery research.
The successful applicant will serve as Chief of the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery and will have administrative responsibilities commensurate with that title. The clinical practice associated with the position will be located at Penn Medicine's flagship institution, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
