The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream appointment in Clinical, Social and Administrative Pharmacy (CSAP) division of our Pharmaceutical Sciences department at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2021.

An appropriately qualified individual may also be nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair.

  • Tier 2 Chairs are intended for exceptional emerging scholars. Nominees should be within 10 years of receiving their highest degree.
  • Applicants who are more than 10 years from having earned their highest degree (and where career breaks exist, such as maternity, parental or extended sick leave, clinical training, etc.) may have their eligibility for a Tier 2 Chair assessed through the program’s Tier 2 justification process.


We seek applications from candidates whose research complements the research programs of the highly collaborative faculty currently in the CSAP Pharmaceutical Sciences department. Relevant areas of research include but are not limited to: health policy and law, public health, health services, pharmacoepidemiology, health economics/pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment, sociobehavioural aspects of medicine use, pharmacy practice research (including research on pharmacy services or clinical research), health as a human right, social justice, artificial intelligence.


Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related Health Sciences fields, Public Health, Health Research Methods, Data Sciences, Health Policy, Management or a related area, by the time of appointment OR completion of PharmD program plus relevant graduate degree. Postdoctoral experience, or equivalent (e.g. government, health care organization or industry), in an area related to one of the five overarching research areas in pharmaceutical sciences research that will build on the strengths of the CSAP Faculty is preferred. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Candidates must have experience leading or participating in collaborative research and demonstrated ability to work across disciplines in cross and multidisciplinary research and/or teaching initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to mount an independent, innovative, active, externally funded and internationally recognized research program. This candidate will be expected to contribute to the education and training of undergraduate students in our PharmD professional programs and graduate students in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.

Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching portfolio including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations submitted as part of the application, as well as strong letters of reference.
