Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Job description
Briar Cliff University of Iowa, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track, assistant professor in Chemistry to start in the fall of 2021. The primary, and essential, teaching responsibility will be biochemistry and organic chemistry. Other teaching duties may include chemistry courses for non-majors, nursing students, or majors. Furthermore, there may be the opportunity to teach in the university’s general education curriculum. Additional duties will include undergraduate student advising, research, and the possibility of overseeing some of the department’s programs. Preferred candidates will have a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry, commitment to undergraduate teaching and research, and evidence of scholarship required.
