Instructor, English & Modern Languages/Spanish
The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS)invites applications for an Instructor of Spanish/Languages Coordinator in the Department of English and Modern Languages beginning August 16, 2021. Applicants should be able to teach elementary and intermediate Spanish and courses for the Spanish minor. Required qualifications include a master’s degree in Spanish or a related field from an accredited university. A.B.D. is preferred. Experience in teaching Spanish and coordinating placement and proficiency exams is preferred. The duties associated with this position include: teaching 3 courses per semester, coordinating language placement and proficiency exams, conducting assessment for the program, recommending the hiring of adjunct labor when necessary, and collaborating with other units to recruit for and to develop the Modern Languages program and Spanish minor. UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned. This is position is annually renewable.
