Lecturer - Department of English
The Department of English at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for part-time lecturer positions to teach fields of British and American literature in the English 102 series. Courses may include 1) Topics in 20th Century Literature, 2) Topics in 18th and 19th Century English Literature, and 3) Topics in Medieval and/or Early Modern Literature, during the fall, winter and spring quarters of 2020-2021 academic year. The full-time teaching load in the School of Humanities is eight courses per year; the annual full-time salary is $56,381.00, and the salary per course is $7,047.63.
Requirement - Applicants must have the Ph.D in English in hand by June 30, 2020. Three years of university-level teaching experience in English is preferred.

Spring 2021

- Indicate the candidate's teaching experiences to date, including experience with teaching undergraduates/graduate students, or other populations, as well as their areas of interest. This should also include mentorship that they have given to others in the line of research or outreach activities.
- Detail the candidate's teaching approaches and philosophies, as to how they will engage in effective teaching strategies.
To be considered for any possible openings in Fall Quarter 2020, the application must be received by May 31, 2020, however, applications will be accepted through January 31, 2021, and considered on an as-needed basis.
