Research Administrator IIJob Description:
The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is seeking candidates with experience in both pre-award and post-ward to assists the department with research proposal submissions, proposal budgets, award setup, award modification, purchase orders, invoice payments, journal entries, IT related tasks, laboratory safety, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities to include:• Coordinating activities related to research funding. This includes working with faculty and departmental staff to prepare proposals for funding, create budgets, assemble funding applications, and oversee the proposal approval process through the Department and DSP. The incumbent is responsible for setting up new awards and processing award modifications. This will include compliance review, budget transfers, no cost extension requests, and setting up subawards with external collaborators.• Processing financial transactions for the department. This includes creating purchase orders, check requests, journal entries, and maintaining accurate records of these transactions as well as biweekly payroll.• Assisting faculty and staff as needed with administrative tasks. These tasks include shipping packages, receiving packages, maintaining copiers, work orders, and surplus inventory pickup requests.• Overseeing various IT related tasks within the department. These include managing the card swipe systems, submitting service requests to UF IT, requesting Exchange email accounts, creating folders on the Share drive and granting access, maintain departmental email lists, maintain conference room computers and SmartBoards, coordinating disposal of computers, and collect all storage media for appropriate disposal.• Working with faculty, laboratory staff, and Environmental Health & Safety to ensure proper procedures are followed during new laboratory setup, laboratory close out, hazardous waste pickup, and the bloodborne pathogen program.• Assisting in the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility. May recommend changes on policy/procedures as necessary.Expected Salary:
$48,000 - $58,000Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in both pre-award and post-award.
- Able to work in common office space with interruptions.
- Able to manage time wisely and prioritize appropriately
- Able to make independent decisions regarding polices and procedures
- Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
