The Office of Admissions and Student Affairs has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist position.

Department Summary
The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) is a unique and collaborative graduate school that combines the collective expertise of three Colorado universities: the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) in Aurora, Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado. Position Summary 
The Recruitment & Enrollment Specialist position is a critical part of the Admissions & Student Affairs team who works directly with the Manager for Admissions. This position will support the planning, coordination and implementation of the graduate enrollment management process (recruitment, admission, matriculation and onboarding of new students) including strategies and activities that optimize inclusive and equity-focused enrollment for all of the programs administered through the Colorado School of Public Health.  

The Recruitment & Enrollment Specialist’s primary responsibility is to support the graduate enrollment management (GEM) process. This includes overseeing student recruitment, processing admissions, and conducting onboarding of prospective and new students from diverse backgrounds. The Recruitment & Enrollment Specialist will work collaboratively with the OASA team, department chairs and school leadership to oversee and manage the admissions cycle for the Colorado School of Public Health’s programs and degrees.  The position will work with the Admissions and Enrollment Manager and Director of Student Affairs and Academic Operations to develop and implement a yearly recruitment plan with measurable goals, objectives, and inclusive and equity-focused recruitment targets, while  attending recruitment related events as a representative of the School.  The position will identify new methods to recruit a diverse pool of students. This position will advise and guide faculty and prospective students, and problem solve on admissions-related issues, and serve as the primary contact for all certificate program admissions.  This position will manage the collection of enrollment documents. Additionally, this position will plan and host prospective student visits, information sessions, Fall visit day, and Experience ColoradoSPH day. This position will lead the Colorado School of Public Health matriculation process and will work closely with the Central University Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid and other related offices.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. At the professional level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

In addition, the Recruitment & Enrollment Specialist will support and promote co-curricular student activities sponsored by OASA and ColoradoSPH, including Public Health Forum, convocation, etc.

Examples of Work Performed

Enrollment Management and Administration:

  • Serve as Admissions & Student Affairs liaison for all ColoradoSPH programs and the Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, Bursar’s Office, International Student Office, Graduate School Leadership, and Student Services Office on the Anschutz Medical Campus, UC Denver and UNC and CSU programs to ensure inclusive and equity-focused comprehensive enrollment management for students across the three partner institutions in a seamless format.
  • Implement admission procedures that is inclusive and equity-focused, by working closely with the ColoradoSPH Admissions Committee(s) department chairs, concentration directors and department administrators to ensure equitable, consistent, and timely review of applications.
  • In collaboration with the OASA GEM team and ColoradoSPH marketing team, develop and implement a communication plan to effectively correspond with applicants during the admissions process through matriculation and enrollment.
  • Work with Residency Program faculty to coordinate the processing of admitting and matriculating residents into the correct ColoradoSPH program.  
  • Using multiple admissions and University platforms, manage the collection and monitoring of all admission materials and student records, including immunization requirements, tuition deposits, background check orders, academic transcripts, and maintenance of all professional program student records. 
  • Administer matriculation procedures for all ColoradoSPH students and ensure that all students who have submitted required materials are enrolled into the University Student Information System in a timely manner.  Resolve any issues and provide support to students during the enrollment process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming students and execute the student services responsibilities for all ColoradoSPH students that include but are not limited to, helping students to navigate residency, financial aid, international student documentation and maintenance of student records.
  • Monitor and track all missing student documents and place and/or remove registration holds.
  • Monitor ColoradoSPH admissions email account and answer or distribute all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Work with the OASA GEM team and ColoradoSPH marketing team to ensure all outward facing marketing materials are current and up-to-date.
Recruitment

  • Develop a recruitment plan in collaboration with the OASA GEM team. 
  • Represent ColoradoSPH at targeted community colleges, college fairs (both national and regional); specialized recruitment events for a diverse pool of prospective students, families, and counselors; and other University activities related to the goal of the position and office.
  • Meet with prospective students regarding ColoradoSPH and all of the programs administered within the school to educate, inform, and discuss options on an individual basis.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver inclusive and equity-focused recruitment presentations to effectively highlight all academic programs and the admissions process to diverse prospective students
  • Develop relationships with targeted community college and undergraduate academic advisors, pre-health advisors, and partners for the recruitment of a diverse pool of prospective students.
  • In collaboration with the Admissions and Enrollment Manager, develop, plan and implement inclusive and equity-focused prospective student visit programs to encourage students to apply and enroll at ColoradoSPH
  • Serve as a primary contact for local pipeline programs to recruit Underrepresented Minorities (URMs).
Student Affairs Team Duties 

    Support OASA in “all-hands” inclusive and equity-focused student engagement activities for diverse groups of prospective and current students to ensure and enhance student engagement and connectivity, including Public Health Forum, convocation, etc.
Support OASA in assisting with current student issues that impact diverse groups of students and directing students to appropriate resources.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this 100% full-time position has been established at $47,000 - $54,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience in academic and student affairs, including the area of student services within a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
OR

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience with overseeing student admissions and recruitment for graduate programs
  • Experience with admissions and recruitment systems such as CUSIS or (SOPHAS)
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of the field public health
  • Knowledge of higher education practices related to recruitment, admissions, administration
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively develop reports for faculty and departmental administrators, staff, affiliates, and campus administration.
  • Comfortable with public speaking
Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires the employee to travel occasionally out-of-state for annual events and work flexible workhours to complete event timelines. In most cases, the employee will be required to have transportation to these events. The employee needs to be able to lift materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be willing to travel within the state and to several out-of-state events annually. 
  • Must be willing to work flexible work schedules to complete event timelines. 
  • Must possess and maintain current valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, satisfactory driving record, and personal automobile liability insurance. 
  • Must be willing and able to drive own vehicle for work events as needed (state mileage reimbursement available.)
  • Must be able to comfortably lift 25 pounds and perform minimal physical demands.
