The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Senior Data & Operations Specialist.

International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA), part of Notre Dame International, offers a variety of support services and programs to help international students and scholars successfully manage their immigration status and make the most out of their time at the University.

The Data and Operations Specialist is responsible for managing data pertaining to immigration regulations and assists with advising F-1 and J-1 students. This position is responsible for database management, data collection & analysis, record-keeping, reporting, and coordination of information through Slate, Banner, Sunapsis, and SEVIS, and provides daily technical and production support. This position requires a thorough knowledge of F-1 and J-1 visa requirements and a willingness to support the international student community.

Responsibilities include:

System and Data Management (65%) - Oversee data management within Sunapsis system to ensure integrity of data collection and analysis, timely and accurate reporting to U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and efficient coordination with campus systems. This position develops and implements policies and procedures which ensure accurate and timely reporting in government databases, integration of government regulations, effective student reporting, and staff compliance with record management protocols. Oversee maintenance of Sunapsis to ensure ISSA is providing effective and efficient services to the international community. Lead collaboration with OIT partners to ensure Sunapsis functionality for students and administrators and support ISSA compliance with data management protocols.

F Student Immigration Advising (25%) - As a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), manage caseload for advising F and J visa holding students on immigration regulations, policies, and procedures

Programming / Orientation (10%) - Lead new student registration at orientation and develop resources to support student compliance with immigration requirements. Support international student programming.

Stay up to date on industry standards to recommend and implement best practices in immigration advising and information systems management.


Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience advising F-1 visa holders and maintaining SEVIS records required
- Experience with Sunapsis and data analysis required; experience with Banner, Slate, and OnBase Preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Experience working in cross cultural or internationally minded environment
- Strong attention to detail and appreciation for problem solving

Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to fulfill SEVIS reporting requirements as a DSO/RO.
