Position Summary:
This position has been re-opened for further recruitment. Previous applicants need not re-apply to be considered.

Under the general supervision of the Acting Assistant Director, presents financial aid information both on and off-campus to groups of students, prospective students and parents. Evaluates the eligibility for and appropriateness of all financial aid processed through the UCI Financial Aid Office. Completes assigned work on schedule. Provides information to clients in an accurate, timely, professional, and courteous manner. Analyzes regulation and participates in the development of the UCI Financial Aid Office policy and procedure for administering Financial Aid from all sources. Willingly accepts special assignments and other duties as assigned.

Monthly $4,517.67

Required:

BA/BS degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Ability to prepare well-organized, up-to-date, easily understood and comprehensive oral presentations, and the ability to deliver oral presentations to large audiences with a good platform demeanor and with sensitivity to audience needs.
Skill to communicate effectively both in person and on the phone, to staff, faculty, students, and members of the community.
Skill to compose and edit written and analytical reports to be clear, concise, and factually and grammatically correct.
Skill to interpret and implement program policies and regulations.
Knowledge of financial aid need analysis and verification procedures.
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs.
Ability to advise students on federal, state, institutional financial aid matters.
Skill to evaluate office policies and procedures and formulate proposals for improvement.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Skill to serve on Financial Aid Appeals Board. Is prepared, thorough in deliberation, patient and sensitive.
Willingness to participate in cross-training activities and ability to learn quickly and retain new information.
Skill to coordinate and organize multiple complex projects and tasks and manage competing deadlines to ensure that administrative obligations are met.
Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people to effectively provide information, identify problems and develop feasible solutions.
Ability to address complex issues and provide suggestions and solutions; ability to maintain security and confidentiality of information and records.

Desired:

Knowledge of institutional financial aid programs.
Working knowledge of FAME/SBS and can be relied upon to participate in the development and formalization of improvements in the program.
Knowledge of Institutional Need Analysis System (INAS).
Knowledge of computerized financial aid system and experience with a PC.

Bilingual Spanish/English (reading, writing and speaking) to communicate with the students and the families of the diverse student body being served.

Special Conditions:
Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and special events.
