Essential Job Duties:Perform novel and independent research for the development of FPGA based digital signal processing methods with applications in radiation spectroscopy, radiation imaging and data acquisition. Work with research team to develop state-of-the-art radiation detection methods and instrumentation for gamma-ray and neutron measurements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work on team developing state-of-the-art radiation detection methods and instrumentation for gamma-ray and neutron measurements.
Program field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) for advanced digital signal processing applications in radiation spectroscopy, radiation imaging and data acquisition.
Utilize Verilog, MATLAB, LabView and Simulink software platforms.
8am-5pm Monday – Friday
Department Required Skills:Strong computational and programing skills, experience in FPGA programing using Verilog and the utilization of relevant tools such as MATLAB, and experience with using the LabView and Simulink platforms.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:Ph.D. in a technical field such as electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a closely related field.
