This position will be involved in the Pediatric department’s research activities - understanding the pathophysiology and factors related to treatments and outcomes for Pompe disease and glycogen storage disease types III and IV. This research will require close work with other members in the laboratory and with clinical research staff in the division. The candidate will also assist with data gathering, data entry, data interpretation, and writing research manuscripts. The position will be actively involved in planning and interpretation of bench to bedside experiments and have a deep understanding of the GSD animal models, including disease characterization and treatment experiments.

The position will be based in the research laboratory of Dr. Priya Kishnani located in the Genome Science Research Building on the Medical Center campus at Duke University.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/ Training:

Ideal candidates will have a recent PhD or MD/PhD in the life sciences including biochemistry, genetics, cell, molecular or cancer biology, or who anticipate completion of their degree prior to starting the position.
