Associate Director, Title III Grant

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic and Student Success, the Associate Director, Title III Grant (titled Transforming the Student Experience: Enhancing Teaching and Learning and Holistic Student Supports) is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight for the College’s five-year Title III grant-funded project. This project supports student success with a focus on equity and on the College’s continued guided pathways efforts, particularly in relation to strengthening teaching and learning and Pathway Communities. Objectives of the project include increasing retention and degree completion, decreasing achievement gaps, and promoting faculty professional development. The Associate Director provides coordination and direction to ensure that program goals and objectives are met. Working closely with multiple units across the College community, the Associate Director is responsible for supporting the Associate Vice President on the implementation of all project activities, assessments, reports, oversight of budgets, and working with an external evaluator.
This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment in this position is based upon the continuation of grant funding.Specific Responsibilities:
• Support the AVP in work related to data analysis, reporting, hiring personal, and budgetary oversight.
• Conduct day-to-day management of the Title III grant project, and assist the AVP in the design, implementation, and assessment all program activities in accordance with the requirements of the grant/project to support transformation of the student experience with enhanced teaching and learning and holistic student supports.
• Assist in administering data collection, analysis, and evaluation regarding project outcomes, and using data for continuous improvement to affect program/service changes.
• Assist in monitoring the budget and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and project objectives.
• Support faculty professional development efforts related to Title III grant and support teaching and learning across the College in conjunctions with other units.
• Help prepare quarterly, progress and annual reports and compile data needed to evaluate project, including maintaining accurate and completed records pertaining to the grant.
• Provide updates on Title III activities and progress that will be provided to key stakeholders, including regular updates/reports to President, President’s Cabinet, and the Title III Advisory Committee, to solicit feedback and provide oversight.
• Provide leadership for assigned staff and processes related to hiring, training and performance management.
• Proactively reach out to and actively engage incoming students in their Pathway Community to encourage enrollment and completion at the College.
• Connect current and prospective students to their respective Pathway Community to improve program completion.
• Engage in a consultative dialogue process with students, faculty and staff to explore and uncover student needs and concerns.
• Work with and supervise the Coordinator of Pathway Communities to support faculty, staff, and students in their Pathway Communities.
• Collaborate with other constituents as needed to meet project objectives.
• Facilitate external evaluation per Title III requirements, including appropriate record keeping and preparing materials needed for evaluation.
• Confer with Associate Vice President and academic leadership regarding goals for upcoming semester(s) and how best to support the continued work of Guided Pathways and progress of Pathway Communities.
• Work effectively with diverse constituents and actively support inclusion across groups and individuals.
• Maintain outreach, engagement and service that is inclusive and that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diversity of the College community.
• Deliver quality customer service to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful and courteous manner.
• Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience teaching or working in student support services within higher education required.
• Leadership experience in planning, implementing and overseeing programs including administration of daily operations required.
• Demonstrated knowledge about Guided Pathways required.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and summarize data and information for multiple audiences required.
• Understanding of issues affecting equity in higher education required.
• Ability to work with diverse constituencies and contribute to a team-based environment required.
• Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus required. Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs required.
• Commitment to a student success agenda required.
• Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate purposefully and effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other constituencies in positive and inclusive ways required.
• Ability to meet complex goals for contract compliance required.
• Demonstrated successful experiences working with diverse groups and individuals to support inclusion required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required including Word and Excel.
• Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as team leader and participant, required.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, budget, allocate, and manage resources required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities required.Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience teaching or working in student support services within a community college preferred.• Previous experience managing staff and a department budget preferred.• Familiarity with integrated management software such as Banner by Ellucian preferred.Work Location:
