General Description:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Title III Grant, the Coordinator of Pathway Communities is responsible for leading and supporting Pathway Communities as part of the College’s continued Guided Pathways work. The College’s seven Pathway Communities include representatives from faculty, curriculum coordinators, department heads and deans, in addition to representatives from Enrollment Management, Student Life, Advising, Counseling, Library, Learning Labs, etc. Each Academic Pathway has a Facilitator who leads the Pathway Community. The Coordinator serves as a single point of contact for each Facilitator and Pathway Community to ensure cohesion and continuity of the Pathway Community efforts, while collaborating with the Facilitators and Pathway Communities to determine effective methods to provide holistic and Pathway-targeted student supports. This position will assist the Associate Director in expanding the reach of the seven Pathway Communities to more fully integrate academic and supports based on the academic pathway of their program of study.

This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment in this position is based upon the continuation of grant funding.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Confer with academic leadership (e.g., deans, Vice President, etc.) regarding goals for upcoming semester(s) and how best to support the continued work of Guided Pathways.

• Lead collaboration between the Pathway Community Facilitators to share effective practices and lessons learned and to confer on progress made and possible next steps in supporting student success.

• Provide direction and oversight to Pathway Community Facilitators as they implement activities to support student success.

• Collaborate with a variety of units and people across the College to move forward the efforts of the Pathway Communities.

• Foster an environment of equity, inclusivity, and diversity with efforts to support reducing achievement gaps through collection and analysis of data.

• Lead Pathway Communities in discussions about reducing achievement gaps in collaboration with various groups, including discussions about data and best practices.

• Maintain and expand the online course for the Pathway Community Facilitators that will act as a repository for sharing information and a supplemental forum for discussions.

• Collaborate with Single Stop, Career Connections, Transfer and Articulation, and Community Service/Service Learning for regular updates on information to be shared with the Facilitators and to provide any feedback from the Facilitators.

• Act as a single contact for the Facilitators when needed for the various support services.

• Alert academic leadership to any obstacles that need to be addressed.

• Provide leadership to the Pathway Communities as they implement annual student events related to career-readiness, college transfers, study skills, and other topics of interest to that Pathway Community, including budgetary considerations.

• Assist Facilitators in completing their semester reports.

• Synthesize the reports from the seven Pathway Communities at least once a year, providing an overview of progress and possible next steps for continued advancements.

• Notify the Associate Director when changes are needed to positively impact the effectiveness of the Academic Pathway.

• Provide updates to the Academic and Student Success Council.

• Assess the effectiveness of the initiative and related activities.

• Work collaboratively with staff devoted to other elements of the Title III grant, including evaluating effectiveness within overall context of the grant.

• Work effectively with diverse constituents and actively support inclusion across groups and individuals.

• Maintain outreach, engagement and service that is inclusive and that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diversity of the College community.

• Deliver quality customer service to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.

• Maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required. Any and all degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.

• A minimum of two (2) years’ of experience teaching or working in a student support services function in a higher education setting required.

• Ability to work with diverse constituencies and contribute to a team-based environment required.

• Understanding of issues affecting equity in higher education required.

• Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus required. Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs required.

• Demonstrated knowledge about Guided Pathways required.

• Commitment to a student success agenda required.

• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, in student success program development and analysis of outcomes, and evaluation required.

• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate purposefully and effectively with faculty, staff, students and other constituencies in positive and inclusive ways required.

• Demonstrated project management skills required.

• Strong communication, collaboration and organization skills required.

• Demonstrated successful experiences working with diverse groups and individuals to support inclusion required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required including Word and Excel.

• Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management and communication skills, both verbal and written, required.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as team leader and participant, required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with integrated management software such as Banner by Ellucian preferred.
