The Collections and Payment Plan Coordinator is responsible for coordinating payment plans and the management of the associated accounts receivable (A/R). This includes obtaining the appropriate paperwork from departments and coordinating updates where necessary; answering payment plan questions, verifying insurance eligibility and coverage when setting up payment plan, ensuring procedures are accurately billed to insurance, verifying approval of prior authorizations, placing financial holds on delinquent accounts, ensuring monthly recurring payments are processed timely; and providing reporting to supervisors on status of these accounts.

This position also includes processes such as sending reminder letters, making phone calls, and identifying accounts to send to collections agency per GSDM policy.

The position is a key resource for managing patient A/R and is expected to work closely with the Collections Specialist and Senior Manager of Billing & Collections to proactively address any concerns to ensure efficient collections.

The Coordinator will be required to collaborate with GSDM personnel such as the Clinical Practice Managers, Clinic Care Supervisors, supervising faculty and students on the payment plan process in order to increase efficiencies in the collections process. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Clinical Finance.

Requirements:

1-3 years of direct experience in the dental field required. Bachelor degree preferred.

Ability to demonstrate customer service skills.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking to tackle issues and provide recommended solution for resolution.

Need to be a self-starter with the ability to be proactive and work independently.

Must be comfortable working in a team environment collaborating with coworkers and other staff throughout the school.

Organized, with attention to detail.

Effective interpersonal skills both written and verbal are required

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced technology driven environment.
