Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of Chief Technology Officer/Director for the Information Technology Department. Salary: $95,000-$100,000
Summary/Objective of Position
Reporting to LCSC’s President, this position is the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for overseeing Lewis-Clark State College’s information technology strategies and computer systems consistent with LCSC’s mission and goals. The position’s various responsibilities are summarized in four categories.
1. As strategist, contribute to on-going discussions about LCSC future, and most importantly make certain that the investment in IT complements and contributes to LCSC’s Mission and Strategic Plan.
2. As catalyst, explore innovation through proposed changes to LCSC’s business architecture, operations, and technology.
3. As technologist, assess new or competing technologies that improve LCSC’s processes and manage complexity.
4. As operator, deliver efficient IT services and solutions that support LCSC mission, while mitigating risk and protecting enterprise assets.
Essential Functions

1. Continually analyze LCSC’s technology for relevance to mission, legality, cyber security, and cost-benefit.
2. Collaborate with President and executive management to report on system use and allocation.
3. Design a network infrastructure that meets LCSC’s continuous five-year horizon.
4. Manage contracts with vendors and service providers.
5. Assure the management of projects and product implementations that meet the constraints related to time and budget.
6. Recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve operations and budgetary consistency.
7. Conduct annual IT audits as mandated by Idaho’s State Board of Education.
8. Hire personnel that meet the technology needs of the department, with a complementary focus on the ethics, philosophy, and mission of Lewis-Clark State College.
9. Work within LCSC’s budget process to recommend appropriate systems, replace end-of-life technology, and manage on-going purchases.
10. Work with the State of Idaho (e.g., Governor’s office, OSBE) in order to comply with mandates and to maximize the resources available to the college.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., Management Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.)
Master's degree (MS, MA, MBA)
Degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university
Five years of progressive responsibility for--and management of--IT functionality in a medium-to-large organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in relevant field (e.g. EdD, PhD)
Experience managing a department in higher education
Three years executive level experience
Experience developing or managing enterprise systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, LMS)
Certified project management expertise with a portfolio of successful projects
Competencies
1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Demonstrated writing for technical and layperson audiences.
3. Budgeting.
4. Ability to manage and motivate staff.
5. Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
6. Technical understanding of network design, cyber security, telephony, web, and enterprise systems.
Salary: $95,000-$100,000 depending upon experience and qualifications
