Description:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of the William and Grace Dial Center for Written and Oral Communication. The director serves as (1) chief administrative officer of the center, calling and presiding at center meetings, and supervising day-to-day activities, (2) coordinator of all aspects of the academic program, such as degree requirements, curricular offerings, catalog announcements, class scheduling, and faculty teaching assignments, (3) chief financial officer of the center, preparing budgets and supervising all receipts of money and expenditures, (4) hiring authority for all searches for new faculty and staff members, (5) evaluator of faculty and staff performance and coordinator of merit pay decisions; (6) liaison to the office of the Dean of the College. Open only to current in-unit faculty. Salary and length of term are negotiable.


Qualifications:

All CLAS in-unit faculty are eligible to apply.

Ph.D. is preferred, and a master’s degree or terminal degree (E.g. EdD, JD) in a field related to the center’s mission is required.
