Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Managing Director, Business Transformation Solutions (BTS) division or a designee, this position provides overall, hands-on data & analytics support on a wide range of initiatives. The Data Analyst will be responsible for bringing together data from various sources to analyze and present findings to the business. In addition to building reports and dashboards, this role serves as an integral part of project teams to help identify trends, gaps, support process improvements and enable the business units to make informed decisions with insightful analysis of data.  It will support external client engagements and work cross-functionally with internal departments & senior leadership. This position will serve in an integral role in developing data-driven business solutions using advanced analytical tools and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Leverages analytics and visualization tools to present information in a way that drives fact-based decision making
  • Develop analytical reports and represent large, complex sets of data through visual representation
  • Perform data analysis using available tools and publish/ design reports as requested 
  • Independently identify and report data patterns and abnormalities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Merge multiple databases and data sources to produce answers to complex business questions and visualizations that tell the story
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and deliver quality work products.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the senior leadership dashboard
  • Provides data analytics for business units to support a variety of initiatives including improvement work and KPI development
  • Prepare and deliver data analysis reports. Develop and present summary reports and visualizations, and oral and written presentations as requested by external clients, internal stakeholders and senior leaders to better inform decision making
  • Provide interpretation of data to key stakeholders and leadership, including identifying and reporting data patterns and abnormalities and presenting analyses of key metrics and trends
  • Balance technology and business issues as well as communicate appropriately with both technology and business experts
  • Provide analytical support to external projects, helping clients extract value from their data to inform decisions and measure success
  • Develop workflows, process maps use case diagrams, flowcharts, and other analysis-type documentation. 
  • Perform current state and problem discovery analyses to support internal process improvement and external projects
  • Perform industry research to clarify, define, or satisfy technology or business process issues 
  • Utilize strong analytic consulting skills, and a customer service focus in order to design and deliver analytic projects to client specifications.
  • Helps align organizational efforts to measurable outcomes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, mathematics, information technology or related field
  • 2-4 years of progressive experience in analytics or technology
  • Experience in creating reports, dashboards, and presentations to support informed decision making
  • Experience in using mathematics, data visualization tools, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into solutions
  • Advanced in MS Excel
  • Experience with SQL and VBA
  • Experience with visualization tools like Qlik, Qilkview, QuickSight, d3.js, Tableau
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving & communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with MS Access and Tableau
  • Experience as an external consultant.
  • Technical writings skills
