Job Details
The Campus Health Coordinator will serve to coordinate the public health and care elements of COVID-19 on Trinity’s campus. The position will report to the Vice President of Student Life and will be a critical part of the college’s In It Together plan for the Spring 2021 semester. The Campus Health Coordinator will serve to coordinate the additional programs and processes related to the oversight of COVID-19 screening, contact tracing, symptom tracking, testing, and related health concerns. The coordinator will also collaborate closely with Human Resources as the oversight will extend to all members of the campus community. Most of the communication with campus members can be completed via telephone or email; however, in-person interaction might be required if the college adopts a testing protocol. The Campus Health Coordinator will oversee the response and safety in this role, including creating protocols/procedures for interacting with others and acquiring the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE). The duties of this position will require some after-hours and occasional weekend hours in order to appropriately direct isolation and quarantine efforts for residential students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee COVID screening process for members of the campus community including students and staff/faculty.
• Serve as a contact point for students and staff/faculty who are experiencing health concerns; assist with screening and advising of next steps.
• Maintain daily documentation of persons with COVID-19, known exposure, and/or symptoms.
• Research, interpret, and advise campus leadership regarding the ongoing guidelines from the CDC, IDPH, and CCDPH for best practices
• Serve as a contact point for the COVID Care team, a multi-disciplinary team of campus professionals with representatives from human resources, student life, and athletics.
• Work closely with COVID Care’s communication manager to maintain the college’s daily COVID dashboard, communication with campus members, and tracking of data.
• Coordinate and maintain COVID positive case response protocols
• Coordinate contact tracing based on CDC guidelines.
• Coordinate with college leadership and Cook County Department of Public Health, when appropriate.
• Assign follow-up care and resources for students with designated campus liaisons.
• Report signs of COVID spread and/or outbreak to the VP of Student Life to make any relevant campus adjustments to mitigate spread.
• When appropriate, collaborate with the Dean of Student Life to coordinate medical absences for students related to COVID symptoms.
• Partner with local health providers and testing centers to remove barriers to care for residential students.
• Partner with Athletic Training and Human Resources to assure consistency in practice
• Coordinate campus COVID-19 testing program, if adopted.
• Collaborate with other health professionals who might assist the COVID Care team on an as-needed or contracted basis.
QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Registered Nurse (RN) license or similar is required
• Public health experience and expertise is preferred
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to demonstrate a professional and collaborative attitude and work ethic.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when met with conflict or disagreement regarding recommendations or required steps, such as quarantine and isolation.
• Ongoing knowledge of CDC, Cook County Department of Public Health, and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) guidelines
• Strong knowledge base of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook as most interaction will be done remotely/virtually.
• Demonstrated collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to work quickly and well in high-demand environment.
