Job Description
Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Peter Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging, Pharmaceutical Health Services Research

 Location: University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Baltimore, MD

 Description:  A Post-doctoral Fellowship is available starting January 15, 2021 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Pharmacy in the Peter Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging. This one-year fellowship will provide multidisciplinary, advanced training and experience in pharmaceutical health services research to prepare fellows for positions in academia, government, consulting, and pharmaceutical or insurance industries.

 Fellows will engage in pharmaceutical health services research focusing on geriatrics, long-term care, psychopharmacological medication use, mental health policy, and comorbidity in older adults. Training includes, but is not limited to, mentored research, grant-writing, and manuscript preparation; it also may include coursework in epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, and methods. This position involves working closely with researchers and clinicians affiliated with Lamy Center. Fellows receive a competitive salary and benefits.



Qualifications
Qualifications:  Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills are a must. Individuals with a clinical degree (PharmD, BSN, or MD) AND a PhD in a health-related discipline or commensurate research experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong quantitative skills are necessary, including experience with large administrative claims data, modeling, and programming (preferably in SAS). Experience in aging and/or geriatrics desirable.
