Nursing Lab Specialist (PT)
Part-time Support Staff
Aurora Fox Valley Campus
Reportingto the Dean for Health Professions and Public Service, the Nursing Lab Specialistis responsible for the operation of the nursing lab, including the evaluationof competencies of clinical skills that nursing students must demonstrate.
Prepare necessary equipment and supplies to correspond with scheduled lab activities.
Provide skills evaluation in order to determine competency.
Serve as a resource person for nursing students during skill practice.
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the lab and simulation equipment.
Establish and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and educational materials used in the Nursing Lab.
Communicate with full-time faculty regarding student needs and progress in the lab.
Maintain nursing lab records and documentation of skills completed by students.
Assist students in practicing nursing skills and provide demonstration as needed.
Support and enforce the policies of the College and procedures the nursing program.
Maintain a safe lab environment for all learning activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
Two years experience in clinical nursing practice required.
Ability to prepare and organize nursing laboratory equipment and demonstrate nursing procedures.
Current Illinois Nursing license required.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and follow directions.
