The Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough is a vibrant, research and teaching intensive department. The department has 34 full-time faculty members, 8 full-time administrative staff,and administers undergraduate programs to almost 3000 students. In addition, the department is home to the Graduate Department of Psychological Clinical Sciences, and actively participates in the activities of the tri-campus Graduate Program in Psychology. Psychology at UTSC is home to more than 60 graduate students and more than a dozen postdoctoral fellows. Working alongside faculty, a team of dedicated staff members provide administrative services and support the daily operation of a department that is committed to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion to help create a truly rich and engaging student experience.

The Clinical Research and Evaluation Cluster is a group of 10 affiliated faculty in the Departments of Psychology, Health and Society, and Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough. The cluster uses an interdisciplinary approach to evaluate psychological treatments for mental disorders with the goal of improving mental health treatments.

Your opportunity:

Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Cluster Coordinator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Research and Evaluation Cluster. The cluster is an interdisciplinary group focused on developing new psychological methods for treating mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, and borderline personality disorder. The cluster coordinator will be responsible for supporting research initiatives through recruiting participants, liaising with community partners and facilitating communication between cluster members. The cluster coordinator will also be responsible for supporting financial transactions associated withcluster activities and handling logistics and assisting with planning of cluster events. Cluster events include monthly cluster meetings, annual research conference, and annual community outreach day.

NOTE: The position is a part time 80% position, for a limited term of 18 months. Work hours are flexible within regular working hours (9-5) and negotiable with the Principal Investigator.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling study participants
  • Disseminating and collecting research surveys and questionnaires
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Exchanging information in progress meetings
  • Liaising with contacts to facilitate and initiate outreach opportunities
  • Tracking and monitoring outreach activities
  • Booking speakers for program events
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field and/or equivalent combination of education and research experience.
  • A minimum of two years relevant experience in a psychosocial health-related research environment
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to generate new ideas.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Evidence of leadership, initiative, diplomacy and excellent judgement.
  • Ability to set priorities and targets and to meet deadlines in relation to frequently changing demands.
  • Demonstrated accuracy.

USW Pay Band 07 Pro-rated at 80%FTE -- $41,325 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $52,849.
