DescriptionPosition SummaryIt is a transformational time at the University of Colorado with digital education playing a key role in the future of the university. The Office of Digital Education shares the mission to serve the needs of businesses committed to advancing workforce talent, and to reach adult learners and the community with innovative educational programs. Supporting this mission, University Information Systems (UIS) is searching for a full-time university staff (unclassified) Web Marketing Cloud Specialist position reporting into UIS and dedicated to the Office of Digital Education.

The Web Marketing Cloud Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and support in the area of website updates, maintenance, and effectiveness related to marketing campaigns. This position performs setup and analysis of marketing campaigns using Pardot/Marketing Cloud and other tools. The Web Marketing Cloud Specialist also assists the Assistant Director with prioritization and future state of enhancements and roadmap development regarding web marketing and projects

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Web, Portal, and Business Applications and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified System.

Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Primary Responsibilities

  • Technical subject matter expert (SME) who sets up marketing campaigns using Pardot/Marketing Cloud and produces effectiveness analyses of campaigns
  • Sets up forms using marketing automation tools such as Pardot, Formstack, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Maintains web analytics systems and creates reports for use in statistical tracking and logging
  • Works with other team members and vendors on web, content management system (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM), and network systems optimization
  • Works with designers, communicators, and marketers to analyze the feasibility and efficacy of websites and web application projects
  • Oversees various aspects of primary web properties including, but not limited to, code, content, structure, and graphics
  • Ensures the usability and accessibility (e.g. 508 compliance and web content accessibility guide [WCAG] standards) of web sites and other communications (pdfs, videos, etc.) delivered on the internet
  • Develops a cohesive User Experience (UX) for websites that meet the needs of multiple end-user platforms (e.g. desktop, tablet, smartphone, etc.)
  • Utilizes current industry-accepted standards, best-practices, and tools to develop accessible, sustainable, and scalable code and products
  • Collaborates with other University marketing and communications teams, academic departments, and colleges to help them establish the technical specifications, functionality, and aesthetics needed to produce and maintain web projects
  • Tests, documents, and maintains websites and web applications
Secondary Responsibilities

  • Be a leader in visual front-end design using Photoshop, illustrator, cascading style sheets (CSS) (including bootstrap and other frameworks), hypertext markup language (HTML) 5 and JavaScript to develop responsive websites and online experiences
  • Works with information technology (IT) counterparts on updating and developing systems and tools for maintaining and monitoring infrastructure, maintaining data security, and maximizing up-time and availability 
  • Assists in defining project scope, schedule, and deliverables for website/marketing projects
  • Advocates for, participates in, and supports Quality Assurance and Control efforts to ensure UIS delivers the highest quality service and products possible
  • Supports Project Management Office (PMO) projects as requested or assigned
  • Supports leadership team initiatives as requested or assigned
  • Supports Load Test efforts as requested or assigned

What we offer:

Salary: The salary for this position has been established at $85,831.

The salary range for this position is $74,082 - $91,339.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:

    • Knowledge of web content accessibility guides and 508 compliance requirements and best practices
    • Knowledge and understanding of graphic design software for print and web (such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
    • Knowledge of and ability to utilize CSS and HTML, as well as the ability to perform front-end debugging and troubleshooting
    • Software and web design skills, including the ability to assess complex data, utilize common operating systems, learn new software programs, and understand programming languages
    • Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, create schedules, coordinate and facilitate meetings, and make decisions
    • Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to examine and summarize data and trends in order to resolve issues and produce results
    • Ability to write functional and technical documentation which address the needs of the customer, which also includes the ability to write detailed test plans from business requirements
    • Ability to utilize marketing tools, such as Pardot, Marketing Cloud, etc.
    • Ability to manage web analytics systems (such as Google Analytics) for analysis and tracking purposes
    • Ability to design and develop the User Experience (UX) needs for cohesive multi-device implementations (e.g. desktop, tablet, smartphone, etc.)
    • Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and administrators in the organization, including our partners across CU (e.g. marketing departments, colleges, schools, etc.)
    • Ability to analyze and identify business process and system issues to quickly identify solutions

    QualificationsMinimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in information systems, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience (professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis)
    • Three (3) years’ experience in a web marketing/web designer/developer role, which includes:
      • Progressively complex experience in web design and development
      • Experience using any of the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, etc.
      • Experience in a Marketing Specialist role using Pardot, Marketing Cloud, Marketo, or other marketing automation tool
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Five (5) years’ experience in a web marketing/web designer/developer role, as indicated above, which may also include one or more of the following:
      • Experience with design, implementation, and/or testing with Usability, User Experience (UX), and/or Accessibility (A11Y) via WCAG
    • Experience using Drupal
    • Experience working in or with government or an institution of higher education
    • Prior work experience in a Business Analyst role
    • Business Analyst certification (e.g. Certified Business Analysis Professional, Academic Business Analysis Certificate, Certification of Competency in Business Analysis, etc.)
