Responsible for fiscal operations with direct reports of two Senior Accounting Specialist. Prepares yearly multi-million dollar budget for the athletic department. Responsible for the entry of the athletic annual budget in the university Hyperion software. Works directly with the university budget office. Directs all budgetary and financial operations of the department, including monthly budget and expenditure and revenue reporting and monitoring. Interacts with coaches, sport oversights, and staff concerning budgetary expenses to ensure fiscal clarity.

Oversees the procurement and accounts payable activities of the department. Provides essential training to the athletic department staff related to business processes, procurement, travel, and accounts payable. Oversees the Athletic Departments’ petty cash drawer, cashiers office and mailroom operations. As budget manager, approves all transactions through the athletics department including but not limited to; procurement requisitions, payment request forms, travel expense reports and requests, foundation scholarship transfers, etc.

Responsible for the overseeing and preparing the Department of Education’s Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) survey and report, the NCAA report, the conference Financial Survey, Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) survey, Football Bowl Institutional report and miscellaneous public records requests. Manages external audit for the FSU Athletics Financial Statements, the university financial statement preparation and accrual entry process with the FSU Controller’s Office. Serves as department liaison with the internal auditors on reporting.

Supervises the reconciliations of multi-million dollar ticket revenue, accounts receivable, and various other revenue activities. Ensures proper accounting of athletics receipts and revenues are reconciled and reported correctly on university documentation. Reviews and monitors sports’ restricted accounts, internal purchase orders, Booster transfers, purchasing cards, travel cards, severance payouts, and debt service payments.

Serves as a liaison with the FSU Controller’s and Procurement offices. Assists Athletics Director, Athletics Executive Staff, and Vice President and Assistant Vice President of Finance and Administration with special projects and assignments, as requested.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to budget, financial and/or accounting services, or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of the same experience.

Experience working with budgetary and financial operations.
Knowledge and experience working with external audits.
Experience working with business processes, procurement, travel, and accounts payable.Preferred Experience in accounting at a University or College setting.Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
