Assistant Professor: Biostatistics

Job description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biostatistics, beginning in Fall 2021. Focused research areas include, but are not limited to, design and analysis of clinical trials, statistical genetics, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, Bayesian methods, and computationally intensive methods. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field, and demonstrate excellent teaching skills and outstanding research potential. Preference may be given to candidates in the focused research areas described above and to those who would be able to augment or interact with existing groups within the Division of Statistics. Candidates should demonstrate the potential and commitment to seek extramural funding. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in our PhD program in Computational Science, as well as in our BS and MS programs in Statistics, Biostatistics, and Data Science.
