Position Summary:

Governors State University is seeking to hire a Social Worker for the Counseling an Wellness Center to provide overall personal, social, physical outreach/educational programming services to best meet the needs of the Governors State University diverse student population. Specific responsibilities include intake, assessment, time-limited individual counseling, outreach, consultation, case management, and crisis intervention in the areas of social, emotional, mental health and wellness. The Social Worker serves as a member of the Counseling and Wellness Center. The Social Worker provides consultation to the university faculty & staff, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Starting Salary Range: $44,031.00 to $50,635.65.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2021.

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED: COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

1. Master’s degree from an accredited school or university in social or behavioral science or a related health specialty area.

2.
A. Current State of IL Licensure as a Licensed Social Worker or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

OR

B. Three (3) years (36 months) of progressively more responsible full-time experience in social work in a medical/clinical or social service agency setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a college or university with a residential, traditional/nontraditional and large commuter student population.
