About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Learning Initiatives and Student Success, the incumbent contributes to student success initiatives implemented through the use of Viking Success (Starfish). The Coordinator works with campus partners to coordinate campus-wide outreach processes and workflow models based on best practice research and data analysis and performs regular intervention analysis reports and shares with departments. The incumbent collaborates with the Viking Success Functional Lead to configure the tool for enhancements, plans and executes training for faculty, staff, administrators, and students, and creates resources and training materials for these groups. In this role, the Coordinator assists users with Viking Success utilization questions and generates reports in Viking Success for end users, as needed The Viking Success Coordinator prepares for and participates in/on a variety of committees, workshops, meetings, training sessions, taskforces, and conferences related to Viking Success and promotes Viking Success through campus communications (electronic and in-person). Routine use of educational technologies such as Blackboard, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Degree Works, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Starfish required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services are required. A high attention to detail; excellent written and oral communications skills; an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized; a proactive nature; exceptional judgement; and a collegial and team-oriented temperament are required. An ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information; an ability to be flexible and adaptive to changing needs and priorities; a strong student-centered orientation; and an ability to work with a team of diverse faculty, staff and students is essential. The successful candidate must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in Education or Higher Education is preferred.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60/hour. No benefits. This position is funded by the Title V grant.
