The Continuing Education, Workforce Development – Healthcare Department is seeking highly motivated, healthcare professionals with 3 or more years of industry experience, to provide instructional training for our Allied Healthcare Career Programs.

We have an immediate need for Certified Professional Billing/Coding (CPB), Licensed Medical Laboratory Technicians (ASCP) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NPA), and Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA)/Geriatric Nursing Assisting (GNA) instructors.

We are also looking for adjunct instructors certified to teach our entry level Electrocardiogram Technician Training, Clinical Medical Assisting, and Clinical Administrative Assisting Programs.

College of Southern Maryland conducts background checks in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the College's staff and students. The final candidate for this position will be subject to the following background checks: Criminal History Check and Sex Offender Registry Check.

Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are interested in finding qualified instructors for the following classes: We encourage healthcare professionals with the following credentials to apply:

  • Certified Professional Biller/Coder (CPB) certified through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred.
  • Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician/Instructor certified through the National Phlebotomy Association (NPA).
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technicians must be eligible to obtain licensure through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 6 months of hire.
  • Registered Nurse, with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and licensed in the State of Maryland, for the Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA)/Geriatric Nursing Assisting (GNA) and Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) Programs.

    Preferred:

    · Prior teaching experience in online and one on one classroom instruction

    · Associate degree in a health career field with a minimum of one course in Human Anatomy/Physiology.

    · Work/experience in a clinical setting providing patient care and/or medical administrative management
