Position Summary

Located 45 minutes from the Nation’s Capital, nestled in a history-rich community of southern Maryland, The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is a two-time Aspen Award-winning institution (top 15% of Community Colleges) with academic programs in over 100 disciplines. This is an applicant pool for part-time Chemistry faculty in the Department of Science and Engineering.

The areas taught by this department include: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, and Geology.

Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Chemistry

CSM is looking for a dynamic individual who can implement the comprehensive mission of a community college by assessing, documenting, and improving student learning through instruction.

  • Master's degree in the discipline of instruction OR Master's in any field AND 15 hours in the discipline OR Sufficient experience in lieu of either requirement, as approved by VPAA
  • Community college teaching and/or online teaching experience desired.
  • Subject matter/content expertise in your field.
  • This person should possess enthusiasm and passion for student learning and be able to respond to the needs of students using a variety of teaching methods including new technologies.
