The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites application for a doctorally prepared faculty member with advanced practice certification to teach in both our Master of Science in Nursing and our Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs. The position is a full-time, 12-month position on the Clinical Teaching Track with expectations for teaching, scholarship, practice, and service as described by the College and University. This position requires national, advanced practice certification in adult or adult geronotology and the faculty member will serve as the Adult/Gerontology Option Coordinator. As the option coordinator, the faculty member will serve as the lead in the core courses in the graduate curriculum and assume leadership role in the review of policies and procedures, admissions and progressions, program outcome evaluation and curriculum planning for the program option.

Job Duties:

  • Teach graduate students in an online education format.
  • Engage in an active program of research/scholarship.
  • Maintain clinical advanced practice nursing and academic expertise.
  • Select learning experiences and guide students in achieving desired outcomes.
  • Participate in the evaluation process of the program, students and faculty.
  • Assume faculty role in the guidance, advising and recruitment of students.
  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Assume leadership role as the option coordinator and actively engage gerontology placement sites.
  • Engage in activities that advance the mission and goals of the Department, College and University.
  • Job Competencies:

  • Ability to maintain clinical advanced practice nursing and academic expertise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with graduate students, faculty and staff both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to use an online teaching platform and basic IT applications.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range: $92,000 - $94,000

    Qualifications
    Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in nursing or related field (DNP or PhD)
  • One graduate degree must be in nursing and from an accredited institution (MSN or a DNP or PhD in nursing)
  • Current national advanced nursing practice certification in adult or adult/geronotology
  • Current, unrestricted RN and APRN licensure with prescriptive authority (and DEA #) in the State of Colorado or eligible to obtain prior to start of employment
  • Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate nursing programs
  • Established record of scholarship
  • Established record of service
  • Previous experience with conducting online teaching
  • APRN practice experience in chronic disease management
  • Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
