Responsible for exercising rodents on motor-driven treadmill and for administration of specialized diet and daily checking of rodents while on diet.

Responsible for performing experiments with small resistance arteries under the direction of the PI. Performs biochemical experiments including real-time PCR, immunoblots, basic protein and enzymatic assays using microplate reader technology, and the determination of plasma markers of circulating metabolites using ELISA assays. Contributes to data analysis and preparation of data for publication, such as graphical presentations.

Maintains laboratory inventory, ordering supplies, basic maintenance of equipment and maintenance of records and files including chemical/biochemical inventory.

The position is for the lab of Judy Delp in the College of Medicine. Most duties will be performed in the Medical Sciences Building; some work with animals will be performed at the Biomedical Research Facility.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of appropriate experience.

Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Experience independently performing tests, examinations, and procedures relevant to the assigned area of research.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience preparing reports and presenting scientific findings.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.Preferred Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of data gathering, analysis, testing methodologies, practices, and techniques.
