Job Description Summary:Position Responsibilities
- Work with Dr. Helenbrook on defining p-1 exact mass lumping for SUPG stabilized continuous finite element methods
- Error analysis of SUPG discretizations of unsteady convection problems
- Implement numerical techniques for validating theoretical results
- Incorporate new techniques into open-source NEK5000 code.
- Write reports and papers
- Assists with other projects, administrative duties and initiatives as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience using Matlab to perform symbolic mathematical analysis
- Published paper in the area of numerical analysis
- Preferred Qualifications*
- Education in fluid mechanics and numerical analysis.
- Experience in C++, Matlab, and Python programming
- Developer of high performance computing software
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics.
- Experience developing with high performance computing (HPC)
- Programming experience in C++, Python, Matlab
- Ability to mathematically analyze errors associated with finite element methods.
- Ability to analyze data and write journal-quality publications
- Experience planning and scheduling research activities
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
