Position Description:
The Program Manager/Educator manages the LOSH-led Western Region Universities Consortium, a federally funded four-university initiative to promote occupational and environmental health/safety and disaster preparedness for targeted communities within EPA Regions IX and X. Incumbent collaborates with the PI, Consortium staff, and federal program officers to provide high-level management of Consortium-wide activities, including data collection and analysis, ongoing monitoring of project accomplishments against established benchmarks, quality assurance and progress reporting activities to comply with funders' requirements. Incumbent consults with external stakeholders including Advisory Board members, academic researchers, state and local public health departments, other grantees nationwide, and labor and community-based nonprofit partners to assess training needs; communicates needs assessment results to worker and community audiences; and translates relevant research and policies into educational initiatives with accompanying curricula and materials. Incumbent organizes and facilitates worker courses and Train the Trainer programs to extend LOSH and Consortium capacity. Incumbent generates reports on region-wide needs, program impact, and future directions and presents findings in graphic, tabular and written form to Consortium staff, Advisory Board members, federal funders, and other WRUC stakeholders.
Incumbent also manages additional new LOSH projects as they develop, adapting program management and evaluation approaches to other regional programs, and contributing to proposals to secure funding. Incumbent participates in local, state and national meetings, presenting program reports and advising on future directions to address emerging issues including occupational and environmental disasters.
