Syracuse University seeks an experienced and visionary individual to lead an engaged and vibrant student life and campus experience in the role of Senior Vice President for the Student Experience. Reporting directly to Chancellor Kent Syverud, the Senior Vice President for the Student Experience provides leadership, vision and strategic direction for a division that includes the programs, services and personnel of the following entities: Barnes Center at the Arch (including Counseling Services, Health Services, Health Promotion and Recreation); Career Services; Disability Cultural Center; First Year and Transfer Programs; Fraternity and Sorority Affairs; International Services; LGBTQ Resource Center; Multicultural Affairs; Parent and Family Services; Student Activities; Student Centers and Programming Services; Student Engagement; Student Living (Residential Life); and Student Rights and Responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and innovative leader with exceptional administrative, financial, communication and managerial skills; a demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion; and proven experience in a dynamic and complex professional environment. The Senior Vice President will have broad knowledge of current student affairs issues and an ability to partner with all university constituencies including faculty, staff, students, administrators and trustees. Integrity in behavior and decision-making are required qualities. The Senior Vice President will also be expected to partner successfully with internal and external constituencies and to represent the division and the University to the media, the public and local and state government agencies. A terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) and a record of successful, responsible and relevant leadership experience is strongly preferred.
