Nature of WorkThe Christie labis seeking to hire a PRA that will help conduct research experiments focused onmaking brain activity measurements from rodents. This is a supervised positionso the incumbent must be able to receive, and act on, detailed instructionswhen beginning projects in the lab. However, for routine tasks, the incumbentis expected to work independently. Methodological approaches include makingbrain slice preparations and use of electrophysiological recording techniquesto make detailed observations. The incumbent will also be responsible for dataanalysis. Lastly, the incumbent will help summarize and communicateresults/findings. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering or closely related biological field
- >3 years of experience with electrophysiology
- >3 years experience with use of lab animals
Applicants mustmeet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with two-photon imaging
- Experience with stereotactic injection surgeries on rodents
- Familiarity with electrophysiology analysis methods
