Position Summary:The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks outstanding applicants for an open-rank tenure-track position, with expertise in molecular and cellular biophysics. We welcome applications from scientists with expertise in all areas of biophysics including but not limited to structural biology, single-molecule imaging, signaling, synthetic biology, proteomics, enzymology, metabolomics, liquid phase condensation, and computational biophysics. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in the broadly defined areas of cancer biology. The Department is currently ranked 4th highest in NIH funding among all Biochemistry departments in the nation and has expertise in a broad range of topics. UNC has a strong research infrastructure with excellent core laboratories for research computing, macromolecular interactions, X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, and NMR. Applicants should hold a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree, and are expected to establish a well-funded, internationally competitive research program and teach at both the graduate and professional levels.
