Department The Florida State University's Division of Student Affairs Title IX Office seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative professional to respond and investigate sexual misconduct, relationship violence, and discrimination. Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Title IX Office in Student Affairs, under the Health and Wellness portfolio, the Title IX Investigator will have the opportunity to collaborate with key campus partners within the same division such as student support services, counseling, victim advocate, and health services to ensure equitable support for students.Equal Employment Opportunity An Equal Opportunity/Access/Affirmative Action/Pro Disabled & Veteran Employer.

The Investigator will:

•Exercise sound judgment and critical thinking in the investigative process;

•Conduct thorough investigations; Maintain communication with all parties, including community stakeholders;

•Act as a neutral party throughout all aspects of the process, ensuring timely, fair, and impartial processes;

•Be responsible for compiling clear and concise investigation reports and maintaining a high level of confidentiality throughout the entire investigation and resolution process;

•Maintain a high level of confidentiality throughout the entire investigation and resolution process.

The Investigator will also lead and serve as a resource providing education to the FSU community regarding University policies and procedures on sex discrimination and misconduct, and conduct training as needed with students and employees. Working closely with the Director, the Title IX Investigator will help ensure Title IX related policies and practices remain effective and participate in the development of strategic planning and assessment initiatives.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and two years experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience (Note: higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate).


Ability to conduct audits and investigations.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, determine facts, exercise good judgment, identify solutions, and consistently apply policies, procedures, and laws.

Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills sufficient to successfully interact with students, large groups, faculty, staff, law enforcement, attorneys, family members, the public, and other professionals.

Demonstrated experience in effectively managing highly confidential and sensitive matters and attention to detail.

Computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.Preferred A Juris Doctorate or master’s degree in a related field

Direct work experience, such as:

•Experience conducting investigations;
