Description
The Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist, reporting to the AVP of Research Administration, is responsible for the management of pre-award activities for assigned schools and colleges, including, processing research grants, contracts and agreements; research compliance activities; and training of faculty and staff in all aspects of grantsmanship. Performs other duties as assigned.
*Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of research pre- and post-award procedures and requirements.
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with spreadsheet and database software programs.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse constituent population.
*Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting deadlines.
*Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented.
*Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
