Job Description:

·         Diversity Student Coordinators work approximately 10 hours per week, assisting with the development and leadership of different co-curricular initiatives offered by the Office of Global Diversity and Inclusion including:

·         mentorship programs,

·         workshops and trainings, and

·         special cultural events.

·         Diversity Student Coordinators will participate in regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance their own leadership abilities and cultural competency as student leaders at the college.

·         Diversity Student Coordinators will occasionally serve as representatives for the office at college and community functions including:

·         recruitment events,

·         celebrations,

·         college fairs, etc.

·         Performs other duties as needed for the success of the office

Skill in: organization; attention to detail; time management; strong interpersonal communication; written and verbal communication; professionalism.

Ability to: work with diverse populations; work independently on projects; handle multiple projects/priorities; perform standard office tasks such as writing emails, using Microsoft Word & Excel, answering the phone, etc.; maintain confidentiality.

Interest in: social justice issues; working with diverse populations.

Other important characteristics: Possesses characteristics of a leader including being a team player, accountable, dependable, forward-thinking, and responsible.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires that any applicant be enrolled as a current student at Columbus State in three or more credit hours in a degree or certificate seeking program. Click here for a full explanation of eligibility requirements for student employment at Columbus State. 

Applicants must have received a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109. 

Must have reliable transportation or other means to get to work regularly. 

Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Minimum GPA of 2.5
Available to work 8-12 hours per week
Completed at least 1 semester at CSCC
Previous work experience
