20-Nov-2020 Close All Job SummaryThe Applied Physics Division at NIST encourages qualified postdoctoral researchers to design, fabricate, and test superconducting single-photon detectors and associated readout electronic circuits. We anticipate multiple open positions in support of our existing efforts in superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs) and transition edges sensors (TESs). One project involves crafting large arrays of infrared-sensitive SNSPDs for hyperspectral imaging to support machine vision applications in light-starved environments. Other projects are focused on quantum information applications and involve integrating SNSPDs with ion traps and optimizing the speed of photon number-resolving TESs.

• Expertise or a strong interest in learning nanofabrication.

What We Would Like You To Have

• Expertise in cryogenics, single-photon detection technologies, or high-throughput electronics is also desirable.
