Adjunct Faculty - English Language Acquisition (ESL)
Part-time Adjunct Faculty
Aurora Downtown Campus
Teach English Language Acquisition (ESL) classes that range from Low Beginning to Advanced. Classes are designed to assist students in developing the English Language skills necessary to achieve their social and professional needs. Instructors will provide educational activities within the scope of a developed curriculum that assist students in achieving their goals. The use of multiple teaching strategies to serve the diverse needs of adult learners is expected.
Responsibilities Include:
Deliver instruction and conduct assigned classes
Prepare lessons and syllabus based on approved curriculum and syllabus template
Ensure student enrollment, attendance, and grades are submitted in a timely manner
Work with Transition Advisors to insure student persistence and transition
Complete New Teacher Orientation
Fulfill State mandated 12 hours of Adult Education Professional Development per fiscal year
Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or related field.
Strong technology skills.
Experience working with diverse non-traditional Adult Learners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Adult Education or related field.
TESOL Certification.
ICCB Adult Education Standards Certification or STAR (Reading Specialist) training.
Understanding of Canvas, DAISI, Burlington English, or Reading Plus.
