Job Description for Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine

Salary Range: $260,000-$270,000@ 1.0 cFTE

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The physician in the clinician educator track is responsible for providing direct outpatient clinic and procedures, and inpatient care to gastroenterology patients at UHealth clinic locations, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and UHealth Towers. He/she will rotate on call after hours, weekends, and holidays proportionate to other faculty. He/she will provide teaching of fellows, residents and medical students at conferences and in clinic and procedures as deemed necessary.

Outline of additional responsibilities include but are not Limited to:

  • Independent coverage of inpatient consults and concurrent care at JMH and UMH

  • Perform inpatient and outpatient endoscopic procedures at Lennar, UHT, and JMH

  • Will be assigned evening, weekend and holiday call proportionate to other physicians

  • Teaching of residents and fellows as necessary

  • Will be assigned proportionate level outpatient clinics at UHealth locations equivalent to 9 half days for a full time clinician educator

Qualifications:

  • MD Degree and ACGME US Internal Medicine Internship and Residency

  • Completed 3 year ACGME US Gastroenterology Fellowship

  • Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology (or board eligible)

  • Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)

  • Valid DEA licensure

  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Completion of US ACGME 3 year gastroenterology fellowship

  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements

  • Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
