The Department of English at the University of Miami is accepting applications for a full-time lecturer position in its Composition Program for the spring semester, Jan 1 – May 15, 2021. The normal teaching assignment is four courses per semester and may include consulting at the University’s Writing Center. Classes are offered in such areas as basic writing business writing, or science and technical writing in addition to regular first-year writing courses.
The appointment is for one semester and may be renewable, subject to performance, writing program needs, and available funding. Candidates must have college-level teaching experience. A PhD in Rhetoric & Composition and/or Writing Studies is preferred. We are especially interested in candidates with educational and professional backgrounds that would enable them to make connections with disciplines other than English studies.
