Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology
Breast Imaging Section
The Breast Imaging Section in the Department of Radiology at the Leonard Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, invites applications for a full-time faculty member at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical Educator track, given a planned expansion of services across the system. The University of Miami is the only large academic center in southern Florida, with a rapidly expanding regional footprint.
The successful applicant will join a team of fellowship trained breast imaging radiologists who are involved in a patient-oriented practice focused on clinical and academic excellence, which includes multiple facilities, such as Jackson Memorial Hospital, a 1600-bed primary and tertiary care public hospital; UHealth Tower Hospital, a 550-bed multi-specialty hospital; and the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics. Notably, the eminent Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is included, which has a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation.
The ideal candidate for this position will have completed a fellowship in Breast Imaging; additional subspecialty expertise or interest in contrast-enhanced mammography and diffusion-weighted breast MRI is preferred. Both junior faculty, as well as more senior candidates with an academic record commensurate with experience, will be considered.
Responsibilities will include providing clinical imaging services, mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and intervention. Both Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Taylor Breast Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital have state of the art equipment, including digital breast tomosynthesis units across the system, several US units, prone and upright stereotactic biopsy units, as well as numerous 1.5 and 3.0 T magnets with breast imaging and intervention capabilities. In addition to the rich clinical experience, faculty are expected to participate in teaching residents and medical students, clinical research, journal clubs, weekly multidisciplinary conferences, and serve on departmental committees as requested by the Chair of Radiology. Our practice is focused on the recruitment, development, and retention of academic-oriented radiologists, for which there is ample meeting and vacation time, with an excellent benefits package.
