A doctorate (preferred) or a MA (required) in a TESOL related field.
Preference given to candidates:
with expertise in TESOL, second language acquisition, linguistics, EIL and educational technology.
with 5 years or more teaching experience in an academic ESL/EFL program.
with a minimum of 3 years experience training teachers.
Brigham You University–Hawaii gives preference to candidates whose background and/or experience connect with the many cultures and geographic regions reflected by the student body.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching BYU–Hawaii’s target student population.

Teach approximately 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not all) of the following subject areas: Intermediate and advanced level credit-bearing ESL courses, specialty skills-based ESL classes, and also undergraduate courses of the BA TESOL program.
Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are expected.

The individual should be completely committed to helping prepare students to serve in their families, communities, and the Church in the Asia-Pacific area and throughout the world.
Rank and salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
A limited relocation expense package is provided.
Eleven-month contract, continuing faculty status-track (BYU–Hawaii version of tenure) and renewable yearly.
