Position Summary:

Brigham Young University-Hawaii invites applications for a full-time, Continuing Faculty Status (BYU-H equivalent of “tenure-track”) faculty position in the Business Management Program to begin September 2021 in the Fall Semester.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach Finance and Economic courses. Ability to teach other closely related business subjects is desirable. Teaching assignments would include some of the following:

BUSM 180 Introduction to Business

ECON 200 Principles of Microeconomics

ECON 201 Principles of Macroeconomics

BUSM 301 Business Finance

ECON 353 Money, Banking and Business

ECON 350 Economic Development

ECON 360 International Economics

FIN 360 Corporate Financial Statement Analysis

FIN 370 Risk Management

FIN 410 Investments

FIN 432 International Finance

HTM 150 Economics of Global Tourism

Specific course assignments will depend on the candidate’s expertise and fit with the current business/finance/economic faculty. Annual teaching load will be 30 credit hours across three semesters. Faculty may be involved in the development and instruction of online courses.

Qualifications:

An earned doctorate in finance, economics, or a related field is preferred; a master’s degree is required. Industry experience in addition to this is desirable. The candidate is expected to provide evidence of the capacity to develop courses and curriculum, teach effectively, and mentor students. Candidates with a strong professional network are preferred.
