Duties/Responsibilities:

The student will play an important role in marketing communications supporting the University’s research enterprise and the thousands of individual faculty and researchers across UGA’s campuses, and it will report directly to the Director of Research Communications. Primary job responsibilities include:
- Create content for and support the development of a strategic social media program supporting UGA research. Specific channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Help research and write stories describing UGA research projects intended for consumption by a mass audience.
- Analyze and report social media analytics and provide recommendations to the Research Communications team

Position Summary:

The UGA Office of Research invites applications for one student position with the Office of Research Communications. The student will play a vital role in marketing communications supporting the University’s research enterprise and the thousands of individual faculty and researchers across UGA’s campuses. This position’s primary focus will be on developing and calendaring content and tracking metrics for the Research Communications social media portfolio.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

This position is best suited for students looking toward a career in marketing communications and/or public relations. For Spring 2021, we are interested in students who possess experience and interest in managing social media channels. Additional preferred skills include science writing and storytelling, digital photography and/or videography, and website content management.
