Department Summary:

The Department of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Law in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at UNT supports undergraduate degrees in Finance; Real Estate; and Risk, Insurance and Financial Services (Risk and Insurance track and Financial Planning track); an MS in Finance and an MBA with Finance concentration; and a PhD Finance program. The department consists of 17 tenure track/tenured faculty, two clinical faculty, one lecturer and three staff.

Position Summary:

The Department of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Law, at the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business, invites applications for the appointment of Lecturer in Business Law starting in the spring 2021 semester or possibly fall 2021. The lecturer will teach four business law courses per semester, advise students and provide service to the department, college and university. Teaching will be at the Denton main campus and Frisco branch campus (face-to-face and/or online/remote) and will include courses such as the Legal Environment of Business, International Business Law, Real Estate Law, Corporation Law, and Law for Accountants and Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

J.D. from an ABA accredited law school at the time of application and significant professional/technical experience related to the area of teaching responsibility. Record must be sufficient to qualify as a practice academic according the AACSB standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience teaching business law courses at the university level.
•Record of positive teaching evaluations for university level courses.
•Teaching experience with online platforms (Canvas or Blackboard).
•MBA or appropriate master’s degree
•Ability to produce applied and/or pedagogical research as evidenced by publications in leading journals and/or law reviews.
•Record sufficient to qualify as a scholarly academic according the AACSB standards.
